Rescued & Safe: 8 Dumped Puppies Now in Our Care

On Saturday, July 19, 2025, we received a call from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office about eight tiny lives in desperate need — a litter of puppies dumped along Clyde Ruble Road, off Route 145 in Lewisville. Our team sprang into action, and thanks to the swift coordination of Sgt. Warner and Deputy Loane, these sweet pups are now safe and sound.

One of our amazing volunteers responded immediately and was met with kindness and teamwork — several people attending a nearby family reunion helped gather the puppies and ensure none were left behind.

These little chocolate babies — believed to be Chocolate Lab mixes, about 7 to 8 weeks old — are now being temporarily housed at The Pound until we can make room for them at the shelter. In the meantime, they’ll receive all the care they need: vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick treatment, and plenty of nutritious puppy food.

Though their story started in heartbreak, we’re determined it will end in forever homes full of love.

They’ll be available for adoption soon — and trust us, they’re worth the wait.
