Meet Bull: A Gentle Soul in Search of Peace and Belonging

Bull is a young Great Pyrenees who’s still discovering what kind of dog he wants to be. In past placements, he was introduced to other dogs who tried to assert dominance over him — likely an instinctual attempt to teach or “correct” him, as guardian breeds often do. But Bull isn’t ready to take on that kind of challenge. He responds by withdrawing, staying low to the ground, and avoiding conflict — which, in turn, made the other dogs more uncomfortable. None of this was Bull’s fault, but it taught us something important: he needs a calm, structured home where he can build confidence without pressure from other dogs.

Bull is a stunning Great Pyrenees with a heart as soft as his fur. He’s calm, submissive, and has been through more change than any dog should. We’re committed to helping him find a place where he can finally exhale.

He’s cautious with new people and tends to feel safer around women, but with patience and kindness, Bull’s trust blossoms. He’s deeply people-focused and has shown nothing but gentleness and grace to the humans around him. He’s polite, responsive, and eager to please.

We believe Bull would thrive best as the only dog, or possibly with a gentle, well-matched female of a non-guardian breed. He needs a peaceful home where he’ll have time to decompress and grow into himself.

At the shelter, Bull has been respectful with cats. He generally ignores them, though he may startle if they move suddenly or swat at him. His response may depend on the individual cat and environment.

Bull would love a spacious home or farm where he can stretch out, feel secure, and maybe lend a quiet, watchful eye. With a heart as big as his frame, he’s eager to find someone who will help him feel safe, valued, and loved.

If your days could use a little extra calm, loyalty, and heart, Bull might be the companion you’ve been looking for. Come meet him — he’s waiting to light up someone’s life.
